The accompanying eLearning program helps teachers to become confident users of the WeDo 2.0 Core Set.

The accompanying desktop and tablet supported software provides an easy-to-use programming environment and includes the WeDo 2.0 Curriculum Pack, which covers life, physical, earth, and space sciences, as well as engineering. The set is delivered in a storage bin along with sorting trays, labels, a Smarthub, a Medium Motor, Motion Sensor, a Tilt Sensor, and enough building elements for two students. As it (finally) performs as suggested I cant give it 1 star, but as it underwhelms the child's expectations I cannot give it 5 so a happy medium 3 and a warning caveat.This set is based upon the latest science standards and was created to enhance students' curiosity and science skills. I have to be fair given it three months to monitor its value to my grandson. To be fair Dad and granddad had a great Christmas day whilst grandson watched bereft - takes you back to your first train set you couldn't get near because the grown ups were playing with it. I should further expand on this as I have just retired from the tech support arm of a multinational tech firm and my son is the IT leader for a major UK charity so no lack of expertise on our behalf.

As for getting it working, here comes the caveat - between my son and I we have Ipads, tablets and laptops including MS Surface out of 5 machines we could only get system wireless integration with one of these. Whilst undoubtedly a very clever future leaning tool the limitations to integration do not become clear until after you buy it.

when we finally got it working (see below) He cracked the building and coding quite quickly and then lost interest as its integration into his wider Lego passion was not as an exciting proposition as we had hoped. Bought one of these for my Grandson aged 7.
